Manti Pod

MANTI, Utah-Connor Christiansen had an RBI triple and Trever Trythall added a 2-RBI triple as well as a crucial RBI ground-rule double as the Manti Templars doubled up Providence Hall 14-7 Saturday in the Manti Pod of the 3-A baseball state tournament. After the Patriots had taken a 7-6 lead in the 5th inning on an RBI single from Jace Marshall, the Templars exploded with Christiansen and Trythall’s heroics to end the game with a flurry. Carson Lund also had a 2-RBI double, while Adam Huff, Peyton Fonville and Ben Cluff also had RBI for the Templars in the victory.

MANTI, Utah-Trever Trythall had an inside-the-park home run and Ben Cluff added an RBI single as the Manti Templars doubled up San Juan 6-3 Saturday at the Manti Pod at the 3-A baseball tournament. Kash Shumway had 3 RBI, all on sacrifice flies, for the Broncos. Manti next faces Summit Academy Thursday at 1:30 pm in the 3-A state quarterfinals at Kearns High School.

Richfield Pod

RICHFIELD, Utah-Morgan Albrecht homered and the Richfield Wildcats routed Delta 12-1 Saturday at the Richfield Pod at the 3-A baseball state tournament. Josh Thalman earned the win on the mound for the Wildcats. Austin Chase homered and Bradyn Nielson doubled in defeat for the Rabbits.

RICHFIELD, Utah-Connor Belnap and Morgan Albrecht each went yard as the Richfield Wildcats bested Carbon 13-6 at the 3-A baseball state tournament at the Richfield Pod Saturday. Josh Thalman doubled twice, Marshall Pallesen added another double and Emmitt Hafen took the win on the mound for the Wildcats. Richfield next meets Union Thursday at 11:00 am in the state quarterfinals at Kearns High School.

RICHFIELD, Utah-Alex Harden hit a walk off single to right field and the Morgan Trojans topped Delta 7-6 in the consolation bracket of the 3A State Tournament Saturday in Richfield. Jake Jackson hit a 3-run home run and Bradyn Nielson doubled twice in the loss for the Rabbits.

Juab Pod

NEPHI, Utah-Juab scored 7 runs in the first inning and never looked back as the Wasps beat Grand County 11-1 in the first round of the 3A State Tournament Saturday. Dalin Ludlow doubled twice and Preston Lunt and Spencer Reynolds also each hit a double in the win, while Jakoby Kelley earned the win on the mound.

NEPHI, Utah-Summit Academy exploded for 5 runs in the 9th inning to beat Juab 6-1 in the 2nd round of the 3A State Tournament Saturday. Christian Hughes pitched a complete game for the Bears to earn the win on the mound. Juab will now play Morgan in the consolation bracket of the state tournament at 11:00 AM Thursday at Salt Lake Community College.

Grantsville Pod

GRANTSVILLE, Utah-Zach Foote hit a walkoff single and the Union Cougars outlasted the South Sevier Rams 4-3 in the first round of the 3A State Tournament Saturday. Karson Hunt had three hits in the loss for the Rams.

STANSBURY PARK, Utah-Tracen WInkel hit a walkoff double in the 9th inning to complete a comeback by South Sevier with a 9-8 win over American Leadership Academy in the consolation bracket of the 3A State Tournament. The Rams trailed the Eagles 7-0 early in the game, before gradually mounting a comeback. Yates Taylor also doubled and scored the winning run. South Sevier will now play San Juan Thursday at 11:00 AM at Juan Diego High School.

2-A Baseball

Kanab Pod

KANAB, Utah-Dawson Orton doubled and CJ Maddux earned the win on the mound as the Kanab Cowboys pounded Monticello 11-0 during the 2-A baseball state tournament at the Kanab Pod Saturday.

KANAB, Utah-Marshall Okerlund recorded 4 strikeout in 4 innings and shut down the Altamont offense as North Sevier beat the Longhorns 12-0 in the first round of the 2A State Tournament Saturday. Stockton Andersen doubled and drove in 4 runs while Ryan Delgado tripled and drove in 3 runs in the win for the Wolves.

KANAB, Utah-Trey Chatterley tripled and Sam Orton earned the win on the mound as the Kanab Cowboys routed North Sevier 11-1 Saturday at the Kanab Pod during the 2-A baseball state tournament. Carter Jackman, Cole Clarkson, Derek Houston and Orton also doubled in the win for the Cowboys. Kanab next meets Milford Thursday at 1:30 pm in the 2-A state quarterfinals at Dixie State University. North Sevier plays Beaver Thursday at 1:30 PM in the consolation bracket at Pine View High School.

Gunnison Pod

GUNNISON, Utah-Janzen Keisel doubled and earned the win on the mound as the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs edge Parowan 2-1 Saturday during the 2-A baseball state tournament at the Gunnison Pod. Braxton Sylvester added a double in the win for the Bulldogs, who next face Enterprise Thursday in the state semifinals at Dixie State University at 11:00 am. Beau Millett homered in the loss for the Rams.

Duchesne Pod

DUCHESNE, Utah-Steven Anzalone and Jaron Sanderson each homered and the Enterprise Wolves shutout Millard 10-0 in the first round of the 2A State Tournament Saturday. Matthew and Andrew Bowler each tripled in the win for the Wolves. Millard had their season come to an end by virtue of the single elimination first round.

Milford Pod

MILFORD, Utah-Beaver scored 21 runs in the 3rd inning en route to a 27-4 win over Layton Christian Academy in the first round of the 2A State Tournament Saturday. McCoy Smith hit a home run, Ryker Albrecht doubled and tripled, Crayton Hollingshead tripled and Treyson Hunter added a double in the win for the Beavers. Cobe Carter took the win on the mound.

MILFORD, Utah-Zach Sherwood hit a walkoff double in the 8th inning and the Milford Tigers outlasted Beaver 3-2 in the 2nd round of the 2A State Tournament. Bryson Barnes earned the win on the mound for the Tigers. Milford plays Kanab in the 2A Quarterfinals at 1:30 PM Thursday at Dixie State University. Beaver plays North Sevier in the consolation bracket at 1:30 PM Thursday at Pine View High School.

Roosevelt Pod

ROOSEVELT, Utah-Lepeka Lutui and Malorie Bostick each doubled as the Union Cougars blanked Richfield 8-0 Saturday at the Roosevelt Pod at the 3-A state softball tournament. Ally Rook took the win in the circle for the Cougars. Allie Torgerson doubled in the loss for the Wildcats.

ROOSEVELT, Utah-Addelyn Brotherson, Nakiah Taylor and Sarah Oldroyd all homered as the North Sanpete Hawks decimated Summit Academy 20-0 at the 3-A state softball tournament at teh Roosevelt Pod Saturday. Taylor also took the win in the circle for the Hawks and Brotherson added a double, as did Aubree Ison. North Sanpete next faces Union at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex Thursday at 2:00 pm.

ROOSEVELT, Utah-Madisyn Christensen, Kristen Mogan and Allie Torgerson all hit doubles as the Richfield Wildcats beat Summit Academy 6-2 in the consolation bracket of the 3A State Tournament Saturday. Marissa Franks earned the win in the circle for Richfield. The Wildcats play at 4:00 PM Thursday in Spanish Fork against the loser of Carbon and Manti.

Moab Pod

MOAB, Utah-Savannah Hansen doubled and earned the win in the circle as the South Sevier Rams stymied Morgan 8-3 at the 3-A State softball tournament at the Moab Pod Saturday. South Sevier next faces Grand Thursday at 2:00 pm at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex.

MOAB, Utah-Hannah Tangren homered and Lainey Bohannon added a double as the Grand Red Devils pounded Delta 12-0 Saturday during the 3-A State softball tournament at the Moab Pod.

MOAB, Utah-Haylee Pickrell doubled as the Morgan Trojans downed Delta 5-0 during the 3-A State softball tournament at the Moab Pod Saturday. Karly Peterson earned the win in the circle for the Trojans.

Grantsville Pod

GRANTSVILLE, Utah-Raygen Newton went yard and the Juab Wasps blitzed Emery 15-5 Saturday at the 3-A State softball tournament at the Grantsville Pod. Madison Myers and Reggie Myers added doubles in the win for the Wasps. Keanna Williams took the win in ther circle for Juab. Juab next faces Grantsville Thursday in Round 2 at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex at 2:00 pm.

Manti Pod

MANTI, Utah-Danielle Hatch homered and Tiffany Hermansen earned the win in ther circle as the Manti Templars pounded American Leadership 14-0 Saturday at the Manti Pod during the 3-A state softball tournament. Jentry Young and Kassidy Alder added doubles in the win for the Templars. Manti next faces Carbon Thursday at 2:00 pm at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex in Round 2.

Boys Soccer

3-A Quarterfinals

SALT LAKE CITY-Jack Terrill amassed a hat trick and the Judge Memorial Bulldogs shellacked Manti 8-2 Saturday in the 3-A state quarterfinals. Braden Boggess and Damon Mayfield each scored in the loss for the Templars. Judge Memorial next faces ALA Thursday at 2:15 pm in the state semifinals at Juan Diego High School.

2-A Quarterfinals

BEAVER, Utah-Bryan Pimentel, Jesus Magana and Jose Albelais each scored as the Beaver Beavers edged APA West Valley 3-2 in the 2-A boys soccer quarterfinals Saturday. Beaver next faces Rowland Hall Thursday at 7:15 pm at Juan Diego High School.

FILLMORE, Utah-Daniel Gomez scored the sole goal of the match as the Millard Eagles downed Waterford 1-0 Saturday in the 2-A boys soccer quarterfinals. Wyatt Alcala earned the shutout for Millard. The Eagles will next face Layton Christian Thursday at 5:00 pm at Juan Diego High School in the state semifinals.
