Baseball

2-A Central

FILLMORE, Utah-Janzen Keisel pitched a no-hitter, amassing 14 strikeouts, as the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs blanked Millard 9-0 Monday in 2-A Central baseball action. Chance Helms and Kolton Petersen added doubles in the win for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs have secured the 2A Central Region Championship with the win and will host the first 2 rounds of the state tournament on May 4.

Boys Soccer

Region 17

SPRINGVILLE, Utah-Avery Wade scored twice as the Wasatch Academy Tigers routed Merit 5-1 in Region 17 boys soccer action Monday. Asaki Matsumoto, Kuya Fujii and Lauro Cordova also scored in the win for the Tigers.

Girls Golf

Region 15

MONTICELLO, Utah-The Richfied Wildcats continued their dominance on the course Monday at The Hideout, the home course for the San Juan Broncos. The Wildcats shot a 322 as a team, winning by 71 strokes to beat 2nd place Grand’s score of 393. Manti finished 3rd with a 397, Emery took 4th with a 425, San Juan shot a 462 to place 5th, South Sevier took 6th with a 473 and North Sanpete rounded out the field with a 518.

Individually Natasha Oldroyd of Richfield brought home the top medalist honors by shooting a 76. Her teammate Ellie Hair placed second with a 79, Joopy Bamrungmuang of Grand placed third with an 81 and Richfield sisters Hayden Harris and Piper Harris rounded out the top five by shooting an 82 and 85 respectively.
