Region 20 Tournament @ Canyon View H.S.

CEDAR CITY, Utah-Gavin Hoyt’s 12 points led the way and the Valley Buffaloes downed Panguitch 47-40 Saturday to win the Region 20 boys championship at Canyon View High School. Acey Orton had a game-high 16 points in defeat for the Bobcats.

3-A Boys Play-in Tournament @ Orem H.S.

OREM, Utah-Kaetz King led the way with 23 points and 6 assists and the South Sevier Rams blitzed Juab 68-54 Saturday to advance to the 3-A state tournament with the play-in win at Orem High School. Easton Wright had 23 points in the loss for the Wasps. South Sevier next faces Morgan Thursday at 2:30 pm at the Sevier Valley Center in the 3-A state quarterfinals.

OREM, Utah-Adam Huff netted 26 points and the Manti Templars overpowered Grantsville 59-40 Saturday in the 3-A state play-in game at Orem High School. Isaac Riding’s 10 points led the Cowboys in defeat. Manti next faces Providence Hall Thursday at 12:50 pm in the 3-A state quarterfinals at the Sevier Valley Center.

OREM, Utah-Joshua Thalman posted 19 points and the Richfield Wildcats hammered Maeser Prep 69-35 in the 3-A state play-in game at Orem High School Saturday. Grant Garner had 12 points for the Lions in the loss. The Wildcas next face Judge Thursday at 11:10 am in the 3-A state quarterfinals at the Sevier Valley Center Saturday.

OREM, Utah-Mac Tarver’s 26 points led the way and the Judge Bulldogs downed Delta 64-60 in the 3-A state play-in game at Orem High School Saturday. Derek Smith’s 26 points led the Rabbits in the loss.

2-A Boys Play-In Tournament @ Snow College

EPHRAIM, Utah-Parker Brown posted 23 points and the North Summit Braves outlasted North Sevier 54-50 Saturday at the 2-A Boys Play-In Tournament, claiming the final place in the 2-A state tournament at Weber State University Thursday. Quinton Jones added 13 points and 13 rebounds for the Braves. Marshall Okerlund netted 12 points and 5 assists in the loss for the Wolves, ending their season.

EPHRAIM, Utah-Samuel Orton posted 14 points and the Kanab Cowboys routed APA West Valley 77-40 Saturday in the 2-A Boys Play-In Tournament at Snow College. Tyler Clark added 13 points and 7 rebounds and Nathaniel “Hoss” Houston netted 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the win for the Cowboys. Sam Hatch had 24 points in the loss for the Eagles. The Cowboys next play Thursday at 9:30 am at the Dee Events Center at Weber State University in the 2-A state quarterfinals and will face North Summit Thursday at 9:30 am at Weber State University.

EPHRAIM, Utah-Ky Brown posted 26 points on 14-16 shooting at the foul line as the Beaver Beavers downed Waterford 47-37 Saturday in the 2-A boys play-in tournament at Snow College. After trailing 24-15 at the half, the Beavers went on a 32-13 run in the 2nd half to close out the game. The Beavers next play Rowland Hall Thursday at 2:30 pm at Weber State University in the 2-A state quarterfinals.

EPHRAIM, Utah-Trey Provost’s floater beat the buzzer as the Rowland Hall-St. Mark’s Winged Lions edged Gunnison 62-60 Saturday in the 2-A boys play-in tournament at Snow College. Isaiah Adams had 21 points and 6 rebounds on 9-12 shooting in the win for the Winged Lions. Janzen Keisel amassed 27 points and 15 rebounds on 7-11 shooting in the loss for the Bulldogs. Rowland Hall will play either Beaver or Waterford Thursday at 2:30 pm in the 2-A state quarterfinals at Weber State University.
