Central Utah Preview
RICHFIELD, Utah-Brandt Williams amassed 20 points and 12 rebounds on 7-11 from the field as the South Sevier Rams earned their first win of the season by outlasting Delta 55-54 Friday at the Sevier Valley Center during the Central Utah preview. Despite a slow start, Delta star Derek Smith finished with a flurry, netting 28 points and 5 rebounds before fouling out in the closing seconds. Delta’s Austin Topham had a pair of chances to win the game but he missed on a pair of free throws and a subsequent 3-point attempt at the final buzzer, dropping the Rabbits to 2-3 on the young season. However, Topham’s 10 points and 12 rebounds were instrumental in Delta having a chance for a comeback.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Joshua Thalman posted 29 points and 9 rebounds, along with 5 assists on 13-21 from the field as the Richfield Wildcats decimated Providence Hall 64-30 Friday at the Central Utah Preview at the Sevier Valley Center. The Wildcats improved to 2-2 by shooting 51.1 percent (24-47) from the field. Dustin Mortensen’s 11 points led the Patriots in the loss.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Marshall Okerlund netted 21 points and 6 rebounds as the North Sevier Wolves improved to 5-1 by routing the Rowland Hall-St. Mark’s Winged Lions 57-44 Friday at the Sevier Valley Center during the Central Utah Preview. Burke Mickelsen added 15 points and 5 rebounds for the Wolves in the win. Ozzie Smith had 14 points on 6-6 from the field for the Winged Lions, who fell to 1-2 with the loss.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Carter Thackeray led the way with 23 points and Sam Hansen made a clutch floater and a pair of free throws in the closing seconds as the Morgan Trojans edged Juab 53-50 at the Central Utah Preview Friday at the Sevier Valley Center. The Trojans went on a 20-7 run in the 4th Quarter for the comeback victory as they improve to 2-1. Zac Cowan had 17 points and 9 rebounds on 6-9 shooting in defeat for the Wasps, as they fell to 1-3. Kai Taylor added 17 points on 7-11 from the field for Juab.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Cade Szymanski netted 12 points and 3 rebounds as the Kanab Cowboys routed Duchesne 53-36 to improve to 4-0 on the season at the Central Utah Preview at the Sevier Valley Center Friday. Clay Shakespear added 8 points and 11 rebounds in the win for the Cowboys. Gavin Davis netted 11 points and 13 rebounds in the loss for the Eagles as they fell to 0-1 following their first game of the season.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Grady Thompson posted 25 points and 8 rebounds on 10-13 shooting as the Manti Templars got past Grantsville 70-63 Friday at the Central Utah Preview at the Sevier Valley Center. Kevin Clark addded 16 points for the 4-0 Templars, who used a 24-2 run in the 2nd Quarter to take a 36-21 lead they would not relinquish, notwithstanding a furious Cowboys comeback in the 4th Quarter.
Ammon Killiam had 13 points in the loss for the Cowboys, as they slumped to 1-3 on the season.
Prolook Shootout
OREM, Utah-Caleb Lohner’s 22 points and 11 rebounds led the way as the Wasatch Academy Tigers pounded the Centennial (Nev.) Bulldogs 103-50 Friday at the Prolook Shootout at Orem High School.
Bear River Winter Classic
GARLAND, Utah-Harley Hill’s 19 points led the way as the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs edged the North Sanpete Hawks 54-52 Friday at the Bear River Winter Classic. Devin Palmer had 12 points in the loss for the Hawks.

PRICE, Utah-The Panguitch Bobcats steamrolled the Pinnacle Panthers 72-42 Friday in non-region boys basketball action.
BEAVER, Utah-The Beaver Beavers got past the Waterford Ravens 52-42 in non-region boys basketball action Friday.
Girls Basketball

EUREKA, Utah-Preslee Barnson led the way with 18 points and the Milford Tigers routed Tintic 68-34 in non-region girls basketball action Friday. Lily Wall had 20 points in the loss for the Miners.
ENTERPRISE, Utah-Sofie Shurtliff led the way with 20 points and the Enterprise Wolves downed Panguitch 45-41 Friday in non-region girls basketball action. Mataya Barney had 21 points in the loss for the Bobcats.
ESCALANTE, Utah-The Escalante Moquis bested Rockwell 46-36 Friday in non-region girls basketball action.
JUNCTION, Utah-The Piute Thunderbirds smoked North Sanpte 41-27 in non-region girls basketball action Friday.
Cowboy Classic
KANAB, Utah-Kenzie Jones led the way with 23 points and the South Sevier Rams edged Pine View 56-50 Friday at the Cowboy Classic at Kanab High School.
KANAB, Utah-Brinley Cornell’s 17 points led Kanab in a 52-28 rout of North Sevier at Kanab High School Friday. Kamree Brunson had 8 points in the loss for the Wolves.
Desert Hills Holiday Classic
ST. GEORGE, Utah-Jarica Steck netted 15 points as the Richfield Wildcats stymied Juan Diego 45-36 Friday at the Desert Hills Holiday Classic. Mahinetea Tavanae had 11 points for the Soaring Eagle in the loss.
Dixie Tournament
ST. GEORGE, Utah-The Hunter Wolverines overpowered Manti 42-25 Friday at the Dixie Tournament.
Shannon Johnson Tournament
VERNAL, Utah-Kobree Penney had 16 points as the Millard Eagles downed Uintah 41-29 Friday at the Shannon Johnson Tournament at Uintah High School. Maicee Smuin’s 11 points led the Utes in defeat.
VERNAL, Utah-The Wasatch Academy Tigers pounded Union 56-36 Friday at Uintah High School at the Shannon Johnson Tournament.
