3-A Football Semifinals

PROVO, Utah-Connor Jorgensen had touchdown runs of 51 and 4 yards and the North Sanpete Hawks overpowered Morgan 23-15 in the 3-A football semifinals at Provo High School Saturday. Ashton Osborne added a 25-yard interception return for a score for the Hawks and Luis Rodriguez nailed a 30-yard field goal to pace North Sanpete in victory. The Hawks will next play Summit Academy for the 3-A state championship Saturday November 10 at 4:00 pm at Weber State’s Stewart Stadium.

2-A Football Semifinals

PROVO, Utah-Kael Atkinson ran for 135 yards and four touchdowns on 11 carries, while also throwing for 153 yards and a touchdown as the South Summit Wildcats ran roughshod over Millard with a 34-10 win over the Eagles in the 2-A footall semfinals Saturday at Timpview High School. Jared Dansie added 80 receiving yards and a touchdown grab in the win for the Wildcats, who will next play the Grand Red Devils Saturday November 10 at 11:00 am for the 2-A state championship at Weber State.

Brooks Myers threw for 228 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions while also running for 98 yards to bolster the Eagles. Austin Burratson added 132 scrimmage yards on 29 touches for Millard.

Additionally, Wyatt Alcala added a 30-yard field goal, which oddly enough, commenced scoring for both teams in ths game. After Millard led 3-0 early, however, South Summit scored the next 34 points before Myers’ 16-yard scoring reception to Tyce Davies (5 rec, 45 yards, TD). Hayes Monroe (5 rec, 83 yards) also had a strong showing for Millard. The Eagles’ season ends with a record of 9-3.

PROVO, Utah-Bryant Troutt had a 1-yard touchdown run and Dante Wells added a 38-yard field goal as the Grand Red Devils blanked Beaver 10-0 in the 2-A football semifinals at Timpview High School Saturday, ending the Beavers’ season.

1-A Football Semifinals

PAYSON, Utah-Bryson Barnes threw six touchdown passes as the Milford Tigers shellacked Monticello 70-22 in the 1A football semifinals Saturday at Payson High School. Barnes also caught a touchdown pass on a trick play from Paxton Henrie and Bret Beebe stepped up with a 4-yard touchdown run in the rout for the Tigers. Milford next draws Duchesne, a 15-7 winner over Parowan in triple overtime in the 1-A state championship game November 10 at 1:30 at Weber State.
