1-A State Football

OGDEN, Utah-Bryson Barnes completed 11 of 18 passes for 347 yards and 6 touchdowns as the Milford Tigers routed Duchesne 45-14 to capture their third 1-A state football title and their second consecutive state championship Saturday at Stewart Stadium on the campus of Weber State University.

Barnes averaged 19.72 yards every time he passed the ball for the Tigers, making his performance highly efficient.

His star targets included Zachary Sherwood (4 rec, 83 yards, TD), Bret Beebe (2 rec, 86 yards, 2 TD’s) and Paxton Henrie (2 rec, 85 yards, 2 TD’s) who were all comparably efficient for the Tigers in the rout.

This was Milford’s 19th consecutive victory and with Barnes returning to Milford for his senior season in 2019, the future should still be bright in 1-A for the Tigers.

Gavin Davis (11 touches, 110 scrimmage yards, 2 rec TD’s) led the Eagles in the loss with a stellar performance.
