SPANISH FORK, Utah-Gavin Morgan earned the win on the mound and the No. 2 Piute Thunderbirds doubled up Diamond Ranch 8-4 Tuesday in the quarterfinals of the 1A State Tournament. The Thunderbirds advance to play No. 6 Wayne in the semifinals at Snow Canyon High School Friday at 3:45 PM.
SPANISH FORK, Utah-The No. 6 Wayne Badgers scored three runs in the first inning and never looked back as they pulled away from No. 3 Wendover for an 11-3 win in the quarterfinals of the 1A State Tournament. The Badgers advance to play No. 2 Piute in the semifinals at Snow Canyon High School Friday at 3:45 PM.
SPANISH FORK, Utah-Kyler Bennett earned the win on the mound and had eight strikeouts in just over four inning pitched as the No. 5 Panguitch Bobcats won a hard fought game over No. 4 Tabiona 4-2 Tuesday in the quarterfinals of the 1A State Tournament. The Bobcats advance to play No. 1 Valley in the semifinals at Snow Canyon High School Friday at 1:30 PM.
SPANISH FORK, Utah-Hunter Cox earned the win on the mound and doubled at the plate as the No. 1 Valley Buffaloes beat No. 9 Bryce Valley 12-3 Tuesday in the quarterfinals of the 1A State Tournament. Spencer Cox added two doubles in the win and had six RBI for Valley. Dallin Wegleitner hit a triple and Joel Romo doubled in the loss for the Mustangs. Valley advances to play No. 5 Panguitch in the semifinals at Snow Canyon High School Friday at 1:30 PM.

Region 12
MOAB, Utah-The Richfield Wildcats surged past Grand 3-1 Tuesday in Region 12 volleyball action. The Wildcats downed the Red Devils 21-25, 26-24, 25-13 and 25-23.
Region 14
NEPHI, Utah-The Juab Wasps downed ALA 3-0 in Region 14 volleyball action Tuesday. The Wasps prevailed 25-8, 25-13 and 25-8 to earn the straight sets rout of the Eagles.
Region 16
MONTICELLO, Utah-The Gunnison Valley Bulldogs waxed Monticello 3-1 Tuesday in Region 16 volleyball action. The Bulldogs downed the Buckaroos 23-25, 25-15, 26-24 and 25-19.
Region 18
FILLMORE, Utah-The Millard Eagles stonewalled Kanab 3-1 in Region 18 volleyball action Tuesday. The Eagles downed Kanab 27-25, 25-17, 24-26 and 25-23.
Girls Soccer
2-A South
FILLMORE, Utah-Audrey Camp, Becca Dixon, Heidi Thurman, Kara Camp, Katy Kelly, Paige Cummigs and Sarah DeGraffenried each scored and the Millard Eagles clobbered Beaver 8-0 Tuesday in 2-A South girls soccer action. Lucy Freeman earned the shutout for the Eagles.
Region 14
MANTI, Utah-Ally Squire, Breanne Wayman and Kassidy Alder each scored as the Manti Templars downed Juab 3-1 in Region 14 girls soccer action Tuesday.
DELTA, Utah-Savannah Nielson amassed a hat trick and the Delta Rabbits humbled North Sanpete 4-1 Tuesday in Region 14 girls soccer action. Adi Nielson also scored in the win for the Rabbits. Aspen Clayton scored in defeat for the Hawks.

COALVILLE, Utah-The North Summit Lady Braves jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and cruised to a 4-0 win over Gunnison Valley in non-region girls soccer action Tuesday.
