KANAB, Utah-Quadyn Tebbs led the way with 22 points and the Bryce Valley Mustangs gashed Kanab 62-52 in non-region boys basketball Saturday. Kason Janes had 24 points in defeat for the Cowboys.

MT. PLEASANT, Utah-Moroni Seely Roberts netted 25 points as the Grand Red Devils overpowered North Sanpete 84-63 Saturday in non-region boys basketball action. Landon Bowles led the Hawks in defeat with 17 points and 5 rebounds.

FILLMORE, Utah-Taylor Davies amassed 20 points and 5 rebounds as the Millard Eagles humbled APA West Valley 52-42 in non-region boys basketball action Saturday. Kasey Norris had 12 points in defeat for the APA West Valley Eagles.

Girls Basketball

Non-Region

SALINA, Utah-Aspen Okerlund netted 17 points and the South Sevier Rams clobbered North Sevier 68-29 Saturday in non-region girls basketball action. Allie Cowley had 10 points in the loss for the Wolves.

Wrestling

Battle at the Pound Tournament

GUNNISON, Utah-The Millard Eagles won the Battle at the Pound Tournament Saturday with 285.5 points. Richfield came in second with 234 points, followed by Juab’s JV, American Leadership Academy and North Sanpete rounds out the top five. South Sevier finished sixth, Manti came in 7th, Panguitch placed 11th and Gunnison Valley finished 12th.

Individual winners from central Utah schools include Cody Moat of Millard at 106 pounds, Dayson Torgerson of Richfield at 113 pounds, Sam Rasmussen of Millard at 120 pounds, Denim Torgerson of Richfield at 126 pounds, Kelan Layton of Manti at 145, KC Whitaker of Millard at 170, Talon Belnap of Gunnison Valley at 182 pounds, Danny Garcia of Millard at 195, Zech DeHerrera of Millard at 220 and R. Smith of North Sanpete at 285 pounds.

Tournament of Champions

VERNAL, Utah-Uintah won their home tournament with 254 points, followed by Pomona and Pleasant Grove. Juab came in fourth with 169 points and Emery rounded out the top five. Delta placed ninth in the tournament.

There were just two individual winners from central Utah schools as Juab’s Will Harmon placed first at 170 pounds and Shan Jackson won the tournament at 285 pounds.

Cedar High Iron Town Duals

CEDAR CITY, Utah-Beaver won the Cedar High Iron Town Duals over the weekend by going 5-0 at the event with dominant wins over Milford, Crimson Cliffs, Pine View, Snow Canyon and Cedar.

North Sevier went 1-4 at the tournament with a win over Cedar. Milford went 0-5 at the tournament.
