JUNCTION, Utah-Kelby Jessen led the way with 29 points and the Piute Thunderbirds edged Wendover 73-70 in non-region boys basketball action Saturday. Pedro Alvarez’s game-high 30 points led the Wildcats in the loss.

Girls Basketball

Region 20

ESCALANTE, Utah-Paige Harris stepped up with 19 points and the Valley Buffaloes pounded Escalante 68-29 Saturday in Region 20 girls basketball action. Mikki Prows had  8 points in the loss for the Moquis.
