North Sanpete, Millard Wasatch Academy, Valley, Compete At 1st Day of Dixie Invitational

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Friday, several Mid-Utah Radio schools and athletes competed at the Dixie Invitational at Dixie High School during the first day of competition from St. George.

For the girls, Canyon View is in the lead with 31 points and Millard is in seventh place with 11 points. North Sanpete is currently tied for ninth with Parowan and Enterprise at 3 points apiece.

The boys’ leader is Desert Hills with 36 points. North Sanpete is in ninth place with 9 points and Millard is in 11th place with 3 points.

In the girls’ 1600-meter run, Millard’s Katy Kelly placed 7th (5:17.38) with her teammate, Audrey Camp finishing 11th (5:19.36).

The girls’ medley saw North Sanpete place sixth (4:49.15). The Hawks were represented by Isabelle Hightower, Addelyn Brotherson, Rachael Jones and Linzy Flinders in this event.

In the girls’ high jump, Millard’s Rylee Miller (4 feet-10 inches) placed fourth and her teammate, Mary DeGraffenreid, placed fifth (4 feet-10 inches).

In the boys’ medley, North Sanpete placed fourth (3:50.57). This team consists of Cesar Lemus, Elyja Fowles, Wyatt Roberts and Orange Peel.

The Millard boys finished sixth (3:57.55) in the event. The Eagles’ squad features Carson Bruson, Kaleb Dearden, Nathan Despain and Jaren Camp.

In the boys’ high jump, North Sanpete’s Jamal Mayoul (19-07.75 feet) placed fifth overall in the event.

The meet resumes Saturday.
