Millard Cross Country Competes at Viking Invitational

PLEASANT GROVE, Utah-Saturday, Millard High School’s boys and girls cross country teams represented the Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network at the 2019 Viking XC Invitational, hosted by Pleasant Grove High School.

The Eagles did not place in the team standings, but several athletes from Millard High School had strong performances, nonetheless.

The Pine View girls won the team title with a score of 63 while Westlake’s Emma Heslop was the individual girls’ champion in a time of 18:18.22

Millard senior Ember Moat was the only girls athlete for the Eagles to place as she finished 41st (20:35.06) while competing against various student-athletes representing 4-A, 5-A and 6-A schools.

For the boys, cross country/track power American Fork won the team title, posting a score of 27.

American Fork’s star senior Ashton Hysell (15:33.00) won the individual title.

The Milard boys were represented by senior Morris Maxfield who placed 67th (17:55.34), senior Nathan Despain, who finished 86th (18:58.75), senior John Whitaker (19:45.28) and senior Kyler Harrison (20:24.81).
