Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network Cross Country Runners Compete At Sanpete Classic

FAIRVIEW, Utah-Wednesday, various Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network school cross country athletes showcased their skills at the 2019 Sanpete Classic XC Invitational at the Skyline Mountain Resort Golf Course in Fairview.

The class 5-A Payson Lions took the boys title with a score of 82. North Sanpete’s boys finished fifth with a score of 171. Juab’s boys placed seventh with a score of 187.5 and Manti’s boys placed 10th with a score of 219. Delta’s boys placed 15th with a score of 418 while North Sevier’s boys finished 16th with a score of 435 and South Sevier’s boys finished 17th with a score of 453.

The individual boys champion was Wasatch Academy’s Christopher Korir in a time of 15:50.40. North Sanpete’s Matt Hindes placed third (16:22.00) and Juab’s Dason Day placed 14th (16:58.60). John McLaws of Delta finished 16th (17:00.50) and Gage Cox of North Sanpete placed 19th (17:11.20).

Manti’s Sam Cox placed 24th (17:21.40) with Juab’s Tyler Dinkel placing 25th (17:24.50) and his teammate, Dallin Taylor, placed 27th (17:28.60). North Sanpete’s Orange Peel placed 31st (17:37.10) and Tyler Taggart of Manti finished 41st (17:51.30).

Manti’s Ben Johnson placed 43rd (17:54.60) with North Sanpete’s Cayler Cook finishing 49th (17:59:10).

South Sevier’s Blake Vellinga placed 50th (18:01.40) and Josiah Carter of Manti finished 52nd (18:09.30).

Juab’s Jared Braden placed 55th (18:18.90) and Kelby Bosh of North Sevier placed 60th (18:25.20).

North Sevier’s Keaten Hallows placed 62nd (18:25.90) and Hunter Powell of Manti finished 64th (18:27.90).

Juab’s Talmage Day and Manti’s Kaystan K. Larsen tied for 71st (18:43.70) with Manti’s Trevor Taggart finishing 73rd (18:44.60) and Morgan Bowles of North Sanpete placing 74th (18:45.10).

Juab’s Gabe Peterson placed 77th (18:55.10) and his teammate, Joseph Petersen placed 80th (18:56.80). Levi Bowles of North Sanpete placed 81st (19:00.90) and Tate Goble of North Sevier placed 93rd (19:31.90).

Clancy Eyre of South Sevier placed 95th (19:36.10) and Samuel LeBaron of Delta placed 96th (19:41.00). Wynn Allred of North Sanpte finished 98th (19:47.00), Delta’s Joseph Bliss placed 99th (19:55.70) and his teammate, Gage Smith placed 102nd (20:20.40).

Jarin Robb of South Sevier placed 103rd (20:21.80) with his teammates, Logan Hansen (20:22.10) and Brodie Owens (20:31.20) placed 104th and 106th respectively.

South Sevier’s Tanner Torgerson (20:38.50) placed 109th with Gunnison Valley’s Spencer Overly finishing 110th (20:46.50).

Delta’s Christopher Atkinson (20:58.40) and Ian Knoeller (21:00.60) placed 111th and 112th respectively. North Sevier’s Slade Mickelsen (21:06.00) and Larry Crane (21:17.10) placed 113th and 114th respectively.

Gunnison Valley’s Garrett Jensen placed 115th (21:39.50) with North Sevier’s Ayden Crane (21:45.30) finishing 116th.

Wasatch Academy’s Ben Sparks (22:01.10) finished 118th and North Sevier’s Gavin Baxter (22:23.80) placed 119th.

Delta’s Cody Stephenson placed 120th (23:56.80) and Gunnison Valley’s Dominic Pinkerton placed 124th overall (31:49.90).

For the girls, the Salem Hills Skyhawks, also of Class 5-A, took the team title with a score of 76. North Sanpete placed sixth with a score of 180 and Manti finished ninth with a score of 196. Delta placed 10th with a score of 204 and Richfield finished 11th with a score of 233.

The individual girls champion was North Summit’s Elizabeth Zwahlen with a time of 18:37.40. Ashley Lagat of Wasatch Academy placed second (19:48.00) with her teammate, Purity Kattam (19:55.40) placing third.

Manti’s Fiel Woods placed seventh (20:20.80) with North Sanpete’s Aubry Cook (20:24.80) finishing eighth.

Paige Curtis of Delta placed 10th (20:56:00) and Manti’s Keltsy Fowles placed 11th (21:03.40). Richfield’s Nora Foster placed 13th (21:18.00) and North Sanpete’s Madelyn Christensen placed 19th (21:46.70).

Whitlee Rosquist of Juab placed 20th (21:52.20) and Richfield’s Jamie Holt placed 24th (22:10.60).

Kayli Baker of Delta finished 27th (22:16.30) and North Sanpete’s Rachael Jones (22:48.40) placed 40th. Cambree Olsen of Juab finished 42nd (22:51.60) and Shayley Anderson of Delta placed 51st (23:34.60).

Delta’s Brynnleigh Goodwin finished 52nd (23:35.50) and North Sanpete’s Tylee Henrie placed 54th (23:37.60).

Bethany Christensen of Manti placed 63rd (24:01.40) and her teammate, Megan Dennis, finished 65th (24:05.80).

Karlee Thomas of Richfield placed 67th (24:08.10) and South Sevier’s Lainey Obray finished 68th (24:11.30).

Isabella Kndusen of Manti placed 70th (24:18.70) and her teammate, April Christensen, finished 75th (24:29.40).

Richfield’s McKenna Alger placed 76th (24:37.70) and her teammate, Hannah Steele, finished 78th (24:48.80).

North Sanpete’s Josclyn Allen (24:52.90) and Tasmin Stewart (24:53.40) placed 80th and 81st respectively.

Richfield’s Elena Torgersen (25:12.20) placed 82nd and Sarah Barben of South Sevier (25:35.30) finished 85th.

Delta’s Mollie Eldridge (26:12.60) placed 88th and Manti’s Sarah Peterson placed 90th (26:28.90).

Aubree Woodruff of Gunnison Valley placed 91st (26:44.70) and North Sevier’s Skyler Spainhower (27:05.20) and Sienna Hallows (27:06.90) finished 92nd and 93rd.

Delta’s Millie Western (28:20.80) and Hannah Clark (30:54.20) placed 95th and 96th respectively.

Finally, North Sevier’s Makelle Neuberger (32:23.70) and Katelyn Coates (35:14.70) finished 98th and 99th respectively.
