SPANISH FORK, Utah-Friday, various Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network athletes competed at the 2009 UIAAA Spanish Fork Invitational at Spanish Fork Sports Park, excelling against some of the best athletes in the state.
In the girls’ team standings, Pleasant Grove took the title with a score of 43. Richfield finished ninth with a score of 222.
The individual girls’ champion was Carlee Hansen of Woods Cross (18:59.38).
Fiel Woods of Manti was the highest-placing Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network girls’ athlete, as she finished 20th (20:22.13).
Richfield’s Nora Foster placed 24th (20:30.31) and Keltsy Fowles of Manti finished 26th (20:43.34). Jamie Holt of Richfield placed 43rd (21:39.84) and her teammates, Melissa Crane (23:30.47), Carli Begay (23:39.09) and Aspen Workman (23:43.53) placed 61st through 63rd respectively.
Richfield was also represented by Karlee Thomas (24:25.91) and McKenna Alger (24:51.81) who placed 66th and 67th respectively.
For the boys, Orem took the team title with a score of 39. Richfield placed ninth with a score of 190 and Manti placed 11th with a score of 302.
The overall boys’ winner was Richfield’s Hayden Harward in a time of 15:57.06. His teammate, Tyler Johnson, placed 16th overall (16:41.22). Mason Solt of Richfield placed 31st (17:04.88) with Sam Cox of Manti placing 49th (17:39.68).
Manti’s Hunter Powell placed 56th overall (17:55.94) and Kelby Bosh of North Sevier finished 59th overall (18:02.47).
Manti’s Ben Johnson placed 62nd (18:10.06) with Josiah Carter of Manti finishing 64th (18:19.50).
Cody Rivers of Richfield placed 67th (18:28.59) while Manti’s Trevor Steck placed 74th (19:01.09). Hunter Alger of Richfield finished 77th (19:08.28) and his teammate, Spencer Christensen, placed 80th (19:27.06).
Nort Sevier’s Tate Goble placed 81st (19:36.25) and his teammate, Gavin Baxter, placed 90th overall (22:11.62).
