Matt Conway of Dixie State Basketball Named RMAC Defensive Player of the Week

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Late Monday, Dixie State men’s basketball junior forward Matt Conway was named as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s defensive player of the week for his contributions in helping the Trailblazers go 2-0 at the Dixie State Thanksgiving Tournament.

The 6-7 215-pound Pleasant Grove High School graduate out of Chandler, Ariz. averaged 18.5 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks in the Trailblazers’ wins over Academy of Art and Western Oregon.

He also shot 57.9 percent from the field and 83.3 percent at the foul line.

The 2-1 Trailblazers are back in action Saturday evening at Westminster in the RMAC season opener for both squads.
