OGDEN, Utah-Wednesday, the Big Sky Conference announced its 2018-19 spring academic all-conference teams and former Gunnison Valley High School track and field star Kate Sorensen made the cut.

Sorensen, a two-time NCAA national championship meet qualifier in the 400-meter hurdles for Weber State, just completed her sophomore season of athletic competition and is majoring in microbiology.

Sorensen was one of 69 Wildcat student-athletes to obtain this honor during the spring season of competition.

To be eligible for this award, Big Sky Conference student-athletes must meet or exceed participation in at least half of the team’s competitions, achieving a minimum of a 3.2 GPA and have completed at least one academic term at his/her school.
