Kanab High School Hosts Mid-Week Track & Field Meet

KANAB, Utah-Wednesday, Kanab High School hosted the Kanab Mid-Week 2019 track and field meet featuring numerous Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network schools and athletes.

For the boys, Emery took the team title with 137.5 points. Panguitch placed third with 84.5 points, Kanab finished fourth with 79 points, South Sevier placed fifth with 68 points, Valley finished seventh with 29 points, Bryce Valley placed eighth with 25 points, Milford finished 10th with 7 points and Piute placed 11th with 1.5 points.

For the girls, Snow Canyon placed first with 102 points, Panguitch finished second with 90 points, South Sevier was third with 72 points, Piute finished fifth with 53.5 points, Milford placed sixth with 48.5 points, Kanab finished seventh with 45 points, Bryce Valley placed ninth with 15 points, Escalante finished 10th with 12 points and Valley placed 12th with 6 points.

Abigail Holman of Panguitch won the girls’ 1600-meter run (6:02:20) and 3200-meter run (14:05.85) titles. Meanwhile, Milford’s girls won the medley relay crown (4:42.09). This team consists of Madysen Griffiths, Kinsey Williams, Brynley Wunderlich and Kinley Spaulding.

The South Sevier boys won the medley relay title (4:14.00) as this team featured Connor Peterson, Jacob Robinson, Blake Vellinga and Logan Hansen.

Kenzie Jones of South Sevier won the girls’ 300-meter hurdles crown (49.33 seconds) and the high jump title (5 feet-1 inch). Additionally, the South Sevier girls won the 4 x 100 relay title (53.54 seconds). The Rams’ squad consists of Kaizlee Bringhurst, Brookell Brindley, Radisyn Jensen and Bailey Keele.

Vanessa Delgado of Piute won the girls’ 200-meter dash title (27.79 seconds) and Porter Schoppe of Panguitch took the boys’ 3200-meter run crown (10:51.74).

Karlee Eyre of Panguitch won the girls’ discus crown (109-04) and Jacob Robinson of South Sevier won the boys’ shot put title (40-11).

Kanab’s Jarom Johnson took the boys’ long jump crown (19-04.75) and Brad Taylor of South Sevier won the boys high jump title (6 feet-2 inches).

To close things out, Emri Roberts of Piute won the girls’ javelin crown (84-04).
