PROVO, Utah-Tuesday, BYU director of athletics Tom Holmoe annnounced a contract extension for head football coach Kalani Sitake.
Sitake, who is 38-26 (.594) in his sixth season at the helm of the Cougars’ program, received an extension through the 2025 season.
Sitake led the Cougars to an 11-1 record in 2020, which resulted in star quarterback Zach Wilson being selected No. 2 overall by the New York Jets in last spring’s NFL Draft.
Sitake was named a finalist for the 2020 Eddie Robinson National Coach of the Year award as well for his attainments.
During his time as the Cougars’ head coach, Sitake has led the program to three bowl victories and wins over Power 5 foes, Mississippi State, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Michigan State, USC and Arizona as well as a victory over No. 21 Boise State last November.
