HELPER, Utah-Wednesday, various cross country athletes from the Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network coverage area competed at the Carbon Invitational at the Carbon Country Golf Course of Helper.
The Uintah Utes’ boys and girls teams won their respective titles with the girls posting 51 points. The Uintah boys’ 62 points also earned them a victory. Juab’s girls placed third overall and the Juab boys were sixth overall, with North Sanpete’s boys checking in at 11th place.
Juab’s Maura Williams won the girls’ 3-mile title in a time of 20:48.10 with her teammate, Emilia Anderson, placing third in 21:52.50.
Additionally, for the Wasps, Whitlee Rosquist placed 12th, Brooklyn Taylor finished 21st, Alexandria Taylor placed 39th and Gen Cannell finished 45th.
For the boys, Bryar Meccariello of Emery was the individual champion in the 3-mile in a time of 17:15.60. Matt Hindes of North Sanpte placed seventh. Panguitch’s Porter Schoppe finished eighth in the standings and Dayson Day of Juab finished ninth.
Juab’s Tyler Dinkel finished 21st and his teammate, Dallin Taylor, placed 27th. Their teammate, Jared Braden, placed 34th overall and Bryton Matheson of the Wasps placed 51st overall.
Juab’s Coltin Fletcher placed 58th and Levi Bowles of North Sanpete finished 60th and Morgan Bowles placed 66th overall for the Hawks.
North Sanpete’s Thomas Jones, Daniel Boekweg and Gideon Palmer finished 73rd through 75th overall, respectively, to conclude the meet.
