Hans Olsen Named New Radio Color Analyst For BYU Football Games

PROVO, Utah-Thursday, former BYU and Indianapolis Colts/Arena Football defensive lineman Hans Olsen was named as the new football game analyst for Cougar radio broadcasts.

Olsen played at BYU from 1996-2000 and later with the Colts for 2 games during the 2001 season.

Olsen then played in the Arena Football League from 2004-2007, with the Indiana Firebirds, the New Orleans VooDoo and the Utah Blaze.

Olsen, the nephew of former Utah State and Los Angeles Rams star defensive tackle and later NBC/CBS NFL color analyst Merlin Olsen, has been a radio broadcaster in Utah for 17 years and has spent five years as a national football game analyst.

He will work with play-by-play man Greg Wrubell, who is entering his 23rd season as the play-by-play voice on BYU radio broadcasts.

Olsen is a native of Weiser, Idaho and attended Weiser High School before his time at BYU.

Olsen stated its has always been a dream of his to see what it was like in the broadcast booth, sharing his admiration for his uncle’s work as a broadcaster.
