Gunnison Valley Alum Kate Sorensen Wins Women’s 400-Meter Hurdles Crown At Clay Invitational

AZUSA, Calif.-Last Friday, former Gunnison Valley High School track star Kate Sorensen, a sophomore hurdler at Weber State, won the women’s 400-meter hurdles title at the Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific University.

Sorensen won the event in a time of 58.49 seconds, edging Allie Vogeler of Butler (58.87 seconds) and Jordan Hammond of NCAA Division II Northwest Missouri State (58.94 seconds).

This was Sorensen’s second fastest time as a collegiate competitor in the event.

Sorensen and her Weber State teammates are next in action Friday and Saturday at the Robison Invitational at BYU.
