PROVO, Utah-Sunday evening, former Panguitch High School multi-sport star athlete and current BYU women’s cross country/track star runner Whittni Orton was interviewed during FOX 13’s weekly sports show, The Sports Page.

Orton, who placed seventh in the women’s Division I National Championship cross country meet this past November at Terre Haute, Ind. told The Sports Page that “it was sad” that COVID-19 canceled the rest of the outdoor track season for Orton and her BYU teammates, as well as all other collegiate athletes.

However, Orton is looking forward to the future, per the interview and is glad that she has a chance to compete once again as the NCAA granted an extra year of eligibility for all spring sports athletes.
