Former Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network School Stars Named As All-Americans

PROVO, Utah-Tuesday, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced their women’s indoor track and field All-Americans for competition this past season.

Those include former Panguitch High School multi-sport star athlete, senior-to-be Whittni Orton and former Millard high School multi-sport star, senior to-be Anna Camp.

Orton achieved this honor in the 3000-meter run. She posted a record-setting performance in this event February 15 at the Husky Classic hosted by the University of Washington at Seattle. This is the top time in the nation and in BYU history, as she ran the race in 8:49.63.

Camp made the squad by virtue of her performance on the Cougars’ distance medley relay squad February 1 at the UW Invite, also hosted by the University of Washington at Seattle. Camp, Orton, Alena Ellsworth and Lauren Ellsworth-Barnes all combined to run a school-record 10:53.95.

Headed into the NCAA Indoor Championships, which were forced to be cancelled because of COVID-19, the Cougars were the No. 1 team nationally in this event.
