LARAMIE, Wyo.-Saturday, as Utah Valley University’s wrestling team commences its season at the Cowboy Open at Laramie, Wyo., a former Juab High star will be competing.

Ashton Seely, a redshirt freshman out of Nephi, returns to the mat after having become the Wasps’ first four-time state champion.

While competing for Juab High, he amassed a record of 216-12 before graduating in 2017.

While redshirting in 2017-18, he did compile a 2-3 record while competing as an “unattached” competitor at 197 pounds. He also earned a second-place finish at the UVU Open by going 2-1 at this tournament.

Seely is expected to compete at the Cowboy Open at 197 pounds.
