SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Baylor transfer Charlie Brewer has emerged as the favorite to become Utah’s starting quarterback this year after joining the Utes in the offseason.
Brewer brings a track record of success to Utah. He helped lead Baylor to a runner-up Big 12 finish and a Sugar Bowl berth during his junior season in 2019, two years after the Bears went 1-11. He threw for 9,700 yards and 65 touchdowns in 44 career games with the Bears.
Utah fans will get their first live look at Brewer at the team’s annual spring game Saturday. The school is allowing 6,500 fans to attend.
