ST. GEORGE, Utah-Tuesday, Dixie State women’s soccer midfielder, junior Alexa Ashton, was named as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s defensive player of the week.

Ashton, a product of Dixie High School, played key roles in the Trailblazers’ shutout victories over Cal State San Bernardino and Cal State San Marcos.

Ashton played all 180 minutes for Dixie State in the wins and was the anchor of a Trailblazers’ defensive attack that only allowed seven total shot attempts.

The Trailblazers are 3-0 on the young season and have yet to surrender a goal. They will host Snow College in a friendly Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and will travel to Azusa Pacific Saturday 13.
