ST. GEORGE, Utah-Late Tuesday, it was reported that the Washington County Commission voted for the approval of a 20-year $10 million strategic marketing agreement to leverage the assets of Dixie State University and the Greater Zion Convention & Tourism office.
This approval will benefit area residents, students and visitors, per the report.
This agreement enables the Greater Zion area to receive more than $2 million in annual exposure. Furthermore, present-day Trailblazer Stadium will be enhanced and renamed Greater Zion Stadium.
Over the course of this pact, Greater Zion will invest $500,000 annually for strategic-marketing programs directed at core audiences at Dixie State University.
Greater Zion will now capitalize on present opportunities that come along with Dixie State University’s transition to Division I.
This will officially occur at the end of this NCAA Division II’s spring athletics season in June.
These opportunities include digital networks, corporate sponsor-ships, access to Interstate 15, traditional media and other marketing tactics.
The Greater Zion tourism office will now establish a visitors’ center at the stadium. There will also be information kiosks at other key locations on campus.
Along with Dixie State’s advancement to Division I status, the property will feature expanded athletic facilities, state-of-the-art press boxes and added event space to the existing west-side grandstands at the stadium.
