Delta’s Girls, Boys, Each Place 5th At Desert Hills Invitational

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Saturday, Delta’s boys and girls track and field teams each placed fifth symmetrically at the Desert Hills Invitational.

The Delta girls squad amassed 43 points with the boys netting 49.5 points.

In like manner, the Desert Hills boys (123 points) and girls (43 points) each won the respective team titles overall.

Delta’s Savannah Nielson placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (15.99 seconds). She also played a key role in the Rabbits’ 4 x 100 relay squad placing second overall, running the second leg. She was joined by Brandy Stratten, Adi Nielson and Megan Atkinson. Savannah Nielson placed fourth in the 300-meter hurdles as well (45.88 seconds) and Adi Nielson finished fifth in the event.

The Delta girls also excelled at the 4 x 400 relay (4:14.26) as this squad featured Megan Atkinson, Savannah Nielson, Kaeshay Brough and Adi Nielson.

For the boys, Panguitch’s Canyon Lamb placed third (15.98 seconds) in the 110-meter hurdles.

The Delta boys placed second in the 4 x 100 relay (45.16 seconds) as Oran Finlinson, Jaymen Brough, Trey Brough and Derek Smith represented the Rabbits in this event.

Jaymen Brough and Trey Brough also placed third and fourth respectively in the 300-meter hurdles and Lambo of Panguitch finished fifth.

The Delta boys’ 4 x 400 relay squad placed fourth (3:40.29) and featured Cael Rowley, Derek Smith, Jamison Bishop and William Finlinson.
