Delta Boys and Girls Sweep Track and Field Titles at Richfield Saturday. North Sevier Also Excels at Crimson Cliffs Invitational

RICHFIELD, Utah-Saturday, Delta’s boys and girls track and field squads swept team titles at the Norris Invitational hosted by Richfield High School.

For the boys, the Rabbits amassed 166 points while Richfield placed second with 118 points. Panguitch finished third with 55 points. Millard placed sixth with 47 points. Manti finished seventh with 45 points. North Sanpete and North Summit tied for eighth with 41 points apiece. South Sevier placed 10th with 22 points. Wayne and Tintic tied for 11th with 5 points apiece. North Sevier finished third with 3 points.

Delta’s girls posted 128.7 points. North Summit finished second wiht 114 points. Manti placed third with 90 points.

North Sanpete finished fourth with 82 points. Millard placed fifth with 71.3 points. Richfield placed seventh with 37 points.

Panguitch finished eighth with 37 points. South Sevier placed 10th with 6 points. Piute placed 12th with 1 point.

*North Sevier also had a contingent at the Crimson Cliffs Invitational Saturday. Those Wolves who placed will be mentioned in their respective events at the end of this article.

Crimson Cliffs Invitational (North Sevier’s Participation)

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Saturday, at the Crimson Cliffs Invitational, these are the boys and girls stadings of the top 3 teams, while North Sevier sent a contingent of athletes as well. Therefore, they are represented here:

The North Sevier girls won the medley event in a time of 4:42.56. The Wolves’ heroines in this event were Kinslee Saling, Swayzee Mason, Ciarra Anderson and Karla McCoy.

The North Sevier boys also won the medley in a time of 3:51.63. The Wolves’ stars in this event were Grayson Bennett, Kamden Saling, Ethan Fielding and Keaton Hallows.

Alli Mason placed first in the girls shot put, posting a toss of 35-01 feet. The Wolves’ star junior also placed fifth in the javelin with a throw of 97-04 feet.

Tate Goble placed seventh in the boys 110-meter hurdles in a time of 16.71 seconds. Goble also earned points for North Sevier in the 300-meter hurdles, placing eighth in a time of 43.50 seconds.

The North Sevier girls placed seventh in the 4 x 100 in a time of 57.78. The Wolves were represented by Sydney Bosh, Mylie Shaw, Kinsee Saling and Swayzee Mason.

The North Sevier boys placed eighth in the 4 x 100 in a time of 51.73. The Wolves’ representatives were Dean Anderson, Cauy Williams, Jesse Aitken and Ethan Fielding.

Keaton Hallows placed second in the boys’ mile run (1600 meters), posting a time of 4:36.17.

Karla McCoy placed third  in the girls’ mile run in a time of 6:08.83.

The North Sevier girls placed fourth in the 4 x 400 in a time of 4:28.19. The Wolves were represented by Trey Torgerson, Cale Torgerson, Karla McCoy and Avery Smith.

The North Sevier boys finished sixth in the 4 x 400 in a time of 4:00.64. The Wolves were represented by Jacob Johnson, Jesse Aitken, Kamden Saling and Keaton Hallows.

Grayson Bennett earned a point for North Sevier in the boys’ long jump, posting a leap of 19-02.25 feet.

In the girls’ discus, Brooklin Goble placed fifth with a toss of 87-03 feet.
