ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.-Sunday through Tuesday, a pair of Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network alums starred for Dixie State men’s golf as the Trailblazers competed at the RJGA South Central Fall Regional Preview hosted by Western New Mexico University.
Dixie State sophomore Davis Heslington, a former Beaver High School multi-sport star, shot respective scores of 70, 77 and 75 for an aggregate score of 222 to finish tied for 24th overall at +6. Heslington also won the Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network 2018 2-A boys’ golfer of the year award.

Meanwhile, Trailblazers freshman, Cobe Reck, a former multi-sport star at Valley High School, shot scores of 79, 74 and 85 for a collective score of 238. This tied him for 81st overall at +22.
The Dixie State men placed fifth overall, netting an aggregate score of 886 as they finished +22.
The Colorado School of Mines Orediggers won the team title with a score of 866, finishing at +2.
The individual winner was Colorado School of Mines redshirt junior Preston Smith. Smith posted a collective score of 211, as he finished at -5.
Heslington, Reck and their Trailblazers teammates are next in action October 14 and 15 at the Midwestern State (Texas) Invitational at Wichita Falls, Texas.
