BYU, Utah, Utah State, Represented On Wuerffel Trophy Watch List Thursday

ATLANTA-Thursday, BYU, Utah and Utah State football each received a representative on the Wuerffel Trophy Watch List. This is annually bestowed upon the FBS college football player who best exemplifies community service, academic excellence and athletic achievement.

The representatives of the schools are as follows:

BYU

redshirt senior safety Tanner Wall. Wall, a senior out of Arlington, Va., posted three interceptions and a defensed pass last season for the Cougars. Wall has a 3.89 GPA in finance and earned first-team Academic All-American honors last season.

Utah 

junior quarterback Devon Dampier. Dampier, a junior out of Phoenix, threw for 2,768 yards, 12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions last season at New Mexico. Dampier completed just under 58 percent of his passes and ran for 1,166 yards and 19 touchdowns last season for the Lobos as well. Dampier has a 3.8 GPA in electrical engineering.

Utah State

junior linebacker Bronson Olevao Jr. Olevao is a former Highland High School star out of Salt Lake City and posted 3.5 sacks and four tackles for a loss for the Aggies last season. Olevao is active in community service, often serving his fellow members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with various service projects in the Cache Valley.
