FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.-Tuesday, BYU junior receiver Dax Milne has been named as one of 67 nominees for the 2020 Burlsworth Trophy.
This is annually given to the most outstanding football player in college football who began his career as a walk-on.
Milne is a 6-1 190-pound product out of Bingham High School of South Jordan, Utah. He leads the Cougars this season with 55 receptions for 1,012 yards (No. 7 nationally) and seven touchdowns.
He is currently averaging 101.2 receiving yards per game.
Other Utah student athletes on this list include Utah senior quarterback Drew Lisk and Utah State senior outside linebacker/defensive lineman Nick Heninger.
Lisk is a native of Draper, Utah who starred at Jordan High School in nearby Sandy.
Lisk has completed 7 of 9 passes for 52 yards in his career.
Heninger is a graduate student out of Bingham High School.
Heninger has posted three sacks, three forced fumbles, seven tackles for a loss and 42 total tackles this season for the Aggies.
This trophy, in its 11th year of existence, is named in honor of former University of Arkansas offensive lineman and future All-American Brandon Burlsworth.
Among the more well-known winners is current Las Vegas Raiders receiver Hunter Renfrow who won the award in 2018 at Clemson.
There will be a virtual awards ceremony for this trophy January 4, 2021 wherein three finalists will be honored
