BYU Men’s Basketball Is One Of Three Final Choices For Australian National

PROVO, Utah-Thursday, BYU men’s basketball became one of the three final choices for UNLV transfer Jonah Antonio.

Antonio revealed this on his Twitter account.

 

The 6-5 180-pound guard is a senior to be out of Perth, Australia and is immediately eligible as a graduate transfer with one more season of college eligibility.

In his collegiate career, Antonio has played at Mount St. Mary’s, South Plains College of Levelland, Texas and most recently, UNLV.

In Division I, Antonio has averaged 9.4 points and 3.2 rebounds per game at Mount St. Mary’s and UNLV respectively.

At South Plains College as a sophomore, he averaged 11.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game and shot 40.9 percent behind the arc for the Texans.

Last season at UNLV, Antonio averaged 6.9 points and 2.4 rebounds per game for the Rebels

BYU head coach Mark Pope, who was 24-8 in his first season for the Cougars, has already brought in Purdue graduate transfer Matt Haarms this off-season, may secure the services of another talented international player.
