WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.-Friday, BYU football redshirt senior kicker Will Ferrin was named to the Groza Award Watch List which is annually bestowed upon the top placekicker in FBS college football.
Ferrin made 24-27 (just under 89 percent) of his field goals last season for the Cougars and all 41 of his extra point attempts.
Ferrin, a native of Kaysville, Utah and a former Davis High School star, has also starred at Boise State during his collegiate career.
Ferrin is the only representative of a Utah school to make the Groza Award Watch List this season.
Ferrin and his BYU teammates start the season August 30 by hosting Portland State at LaVell Edwards Stadium.
