BYU Football Receives Halloween Game Against Western Kentucky

PROVO, Utah-In news released Friday morning, it appears BYU football will receive a treat on Halloween as the Cougars have obtained a game against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers at LaVell Edwards Stadium.

This is per news from Stadium College Football insider Brett McMurphy.

The Cougars and Hilltoppers have never met on the gridiron.

Western Kentucky has been playing at the NCAA FBS level since 2007, posting an 82-82 (.500) record in that span.

Having played football since 1908, the Hilltoppers are 581-402-31 (.588) all-time and were a highly successful program at the NCAA I-AA (currently FCS) level.

In 2002, Western Kentucky won the NCAA I-AA level under head coach Jack Harbaugh, the father of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh and Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh.

The Hilltoppers, of Bowling Green, Ky., currently represent Conference USA, having joined this league in 2014.

Western Kentucky is coached by second-year head coach Tyson Helton, who led the Hilltoppers to a 9-4 record last season.
