PROVO, Utah-Wednesday, BYU football and Stanford announced a four-game extension of their football series, extending the upcoming series to eight games.

The Cougars and Cardinal previously met on the gridiron in 2003 and 2004 and will meet again November 28, 2020 at Palo Alto, Calif.

The series will recur Thanksgiving weekend in 2022, also at Palo Alto with the Cardinal visiting Provo September 13, 2025.

Thanksgiving weekend games in the series will occur again November 28, 2026 and November 25, 2028 at Palo Alto.

The next three games in succession will then be at Provo, September 1, 2029, August 30, 2031 and September 1, 2035, rounding out the extension.

The Cardinal leads the Cougars 2-0 all-time.
