BYU Football Announces Addition of Ty’Son Williams To Football Program

PROVO, Utah-Monday, BYU football confirmed the long-anticipated addition of former South Carolina tailback Ty’Son Williams to the program.

Williams is a 6-foot 219-pound graduate transfer out of Sumter, S.C.

Williams graduated from the University of South Carolina in December 2018 and will have one year of eligibility left to play for the Cougars.

Williams played for the Gamecocks in 2017 and 2018 and redshirted in 2016.

During his time at South Carolina, he averaged 4.8 yards per game and posted 983 scrimmage yards and six total touchdowns.

Williams commenced his collegiate career at North Carolina in 2015, netting 20 total touches for 57 scrimmage yards during his freshman season for the Tar Heels.

Williams was the #11 running back in the country upon his graduation from Crestwood High School of Sumter, per the ESPN Top 300 recruit rankings.
