BYU Cornerback Isaiah Herron Enters Transfer Portal

PROVO, Utah-BYU cornerback Isaiah Herron has entered the transfer portal per numerous reports Thursday.

Herron, a 6-1 175-pound defensive back, has two seasons of eligibility remaining as he completed his sophomore season with the Cougars in 2019.

Herron starred at Arbor View High School of Las Vegas before coming to Provo for the 2018 season.

In May, during a Zoom conference call for BYU fans, Cougars defensive coordinator Ilaisa Tuiaki cited Herron as a player “who was starting to come on” at cornerback.

Tuiaki mentioned that during spring practices before COVID-19 shut down all activities, Herron was a standout during these sessions.

In his two seasons with the Cougars, Herron recorded 26 tackles, two tackles for a loss and three passes defensed.

If Herron transfers to another school, he will be forced to sit out for the 2020 football season.
