PROVO, Utah-Monday, BYU baseball senior infielder Casey Jacobsen was awarded the Rawlings West Coast Conference player of the week award.

In a win against Utah and a series win against Santa Clara, Jacobsen netted six hits, four runs, three RBI and two home runs.

This award is the first of his career and the fifth on the season for a BYU player.

The Cougars are ranked 24th nationally and are the WCC’s #1 seed in this week’s conference tournament at Stockton, Calif.

BYU will face #4 seed Loyola Marymount Thursday.
