BYU Baseball Faces Loyola Marymount To Commence WCC Tournament

STOCKTON, Calif.-Thursday, #1 West Coast Conference seed BYU (36-15, 19-8 in WCC play) faces #4 seed Loyola Marymount (29-23, 15-12 in WCC play) as the baseball tournament commences at Banner Island Ballpark on the campus of Pacific University.

This will be a 4:00 pm MDT opening pitch.

Getting the start on the mound for the Cougars is senior right-hander Jordan Wood. He sports a 4.48 ERA on the season and a 5-3 record.

Offensively, the Cougars are led by sophomore infielder Jackson Cluff and senior outfielder Brock Hale (each with a .340 batting average). Hale leads the Cougars with 11 home runs and Cluff has posted a team-best 56 RBI.

The Lions are led in batting average by junior infielder/outfielder Trevin Esquerro (.321). Esquerro also leads the squad in home runs (15) and RBI (53).

The Cougars are 5-7 all-time in the WCC Tournament.
