Anna Camp Competes at Pre-Nationals Cross Country Meet Saturday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-Saturday, BYU’s vaunted men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at the pre-nationals cross country meet hosted by Indiana State University.

The Sycamores will also be the host for the national championship meet November 23, so this was a chance for the nation’s best cross country athletes to familiarize themselves with the terrain.

In the “blue” division women’s 6-K run, BYU star junior Anna Camp, a former Millard High School multi-sport star, finished 20th overall (20:36.00).

There were four divisional winners at this meet. In the men’s 8-K white division race, the IUPUI Jaguars took the title with a score of 140. In the women’s 6-K white division race, the Arizona Wildcats took the crown with a score of 121.

BYU won the men’s “blue” division race with a score of 81, edging second-place Colorado, as the Buffaloes amassed a score of 83.

Camp helped the Cougars to a second-place finish in the blue division 6-K competition, as BYU posted a score of 87, with the Washington Huskies netting a score of 84.

The Cougars’ men and women’s squads are next in action November 1 at the West Coast Conference championships at Van Nuys, Calif.
