After 8-0 start, No. 8 BYU plans low-key bye week amid virus

The eighth-ranked BYU Cougars head into a bye week with an 8-0 record for just the fourth time in school history.

They’re being extra cautious about social settings amid the soaring COVID-19 cases around the state. They don’t want any sort of virus interruption to spoil what they have going. They’ve already missed one game this season due to an outbreak on campus.

The Cougars play again at home on Nov. 21 against North Alabama. The Cougars then have another layoff before hosting San Diego State on Dec. 12.

They’re still hoping to work in another opponent and maybe a top-notch program to boost their profile for the playoff committee.
