(Cedar City, UT) — An Iron County woman is heading to prison for the shooting death of her boyfriend. Jessica Sabo was sentenced Tuesday to what could be life in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter and other charges. Sabo was originally charged with murder for the death of Shawn Young in 2023, but entered a plea agreement in April to reduced charges. The Iron County Attorney called Young’s death “absolutely senseless,” arguing the sentences for each charge to run consecutively. The court then sided with that argument.
