Six people were ejected from a vehicle and a woman was killed during a rollover crash around 7:00 a.m. Dec. 21 in Wayne County.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol a Toyota 4Runner was traveling westbound a mile west of the turn-off to Hanksville on state Rout 24 when for an unknown reason, the vehicle left the road to the left, sharply came back across the road to the right and departed the roadway striking the embankment causing the vehicle to roll multiple times.
The vehicle had eight occupants, of which only the driver and front seat passenger were wearing seat belts. They were not ejected, but the other six passengers were. A woman who was ejected, died at the scene, while other occupants suffered varying injuries from critical to non-life-threatening.
According to the UHP the crash involves foreign nationals from three different countries.
There was fog in the area at the time of the accident, but it is unknown if that was a factor in the crash.
