SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Police in Salt Lake City say a woman was found dead inside an apartment after an officer was wounded in a shootout with a man inside the unit. Officers responded to the apartment in a downtown complex at around 3:30 a.m. on Monday. Police say the suspect began firing his weapon at police from inside the apartment. The wounded officer was struck in his lower extremities. He was in stable condition and is expected to survive. The suspect was found a few blocks away with a gunshot wound. The relationship between the woman and the suspect wasn’t immediately known.
