SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News)-Per the official Twitter account of ABC 4 Utah of Salt Lake City’s chief meteorologist Dan Pope, a wind advisory is in effect for much of the Mid-Utah Radio coverage area on Friday.
Pope reports the wind advisory is in effect Friday from 9:00 am MST-9:00 pm MST and is primarily expected to affect the Glen Canyon/Lake Powell National Recreation areas and the south central valleys of Utah.
The cities where these effects will most likely be felt include Green River, Hanksville, Kanab, Escalante and Bullfrog.
The National Weather Service’s Salt Lake City bureau advises against boaters going on the water at Lake Powell Friday and for hikers going through narrow canyons.
If in the areas in question Friday, just plan things wisely to avoid any tragedies.
