Wayne county has declared itself as a Second Amendment Sanctuary.

Wayne county Commissioners passed an ordinance declaring that the enforcement of any new gun control measures passed by the federal or the state government will be prohibited. It also prohibits the use of any public funds to restrict the rights of anyone in the county to keep and bear arms.

This new ordinance will take effect on March 17.

Wayne county joins Utah county and Uintah county who both passed similar ordinances earlier this year.
