Utah’s Redistricting Plan

Utah’s Redistricting Plan

The Utah Legislature has formed a bipartisan Redistricting committee to gather information and public input in order to recommend new district boundaries. These boundaries determine state legislative and congressional districts and are required to be looked at every ten years.

Rep. Carl Albrect, who is on the committee stated that he would like to see his district, District 70, include Piute and Wayne counties to go along with Sevier, Emery, Sanpete and Grand county that are already a part of the district.

The Redistricting Committee shared that they want the public’s input in the redistricting process and will be traveling to various locations across the state to hold town hall meetings. Central Utah’s town hall meeting is currently scheduled for Oct. 8 in Richfield.

Utahns are also encouraged to submit maps to the committee which can be made with the map-drawing tool at redistricting.utah.gov, where you can also find more information on the redistricting process.
