SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A university in Utah voted Thursday to begin a process that could involve dropping Dixie from its name. Dixie State University’s Board of Trustees formed a committee Thursday that will review options for the institution’s name. The committee will collect feedback from a public survey, as well as students, university employees and community members before submitting a final name recommendation for the board of trustees’ approval. The name will then go to the Utah Board of Higher Education, which has until Nov. 1 to vote on whether or not to recommend the name to a legislative committee.
