Utahns Buy Record Amount Of Alcohol Over Thanksgiving

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Staffing shortages and supply chain issues did not stop Utahns from getting their booze during the Thanksgiving holiday. Numbers from the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control show a 15-percent increase in sales during the five days leading up to the holiday, compared to the same time period last year. DABC officials say part of the reason for the boost are new state-run liquor stores in Farmington, Saratoga Springs and Taylorsville. Year-to-date sales stand at 175-million dollars, which is 13-million dollars more than at this time in 2020.
