PROVO (KSL.com)-Monday, 41-year-old Bountiful resident Jason Scott Calder, was charged in 4th District Court with rape, five counts of object rape and five counts of forcible sodomy, all first-degree felonies.
Calder has also been charged with five counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony and the obstruction of justice, also a second-degree felony.
These assaults happened between March and June 2017 while his victim, a girl, was a resident in the same inpatient youth treat facility he was serving as a therapist in, police stated.
A warrant unsealed this past weekend in court states that during one therapy session, Calder commanded the girl to take off her clothes but he informed her he couldn’t touch her.
Nevertheless, charged court documents assert “Calder quickly disregarded this statement.”
The warrant also says Calder and the victim would take walks during therapy sessions, at which point she performed sex acts on Calder.
Other staff members noticed Calder’s dalliances with the victim and how he didn’t do these things with any other female patients, resulting in his firing.
He was fired before his arrest.
Calder’s next court hearing was scheduled for October 26.
